Taia Bene
Artist from Russia 🇷🇺
Taia Bene was born in 1984 in Moscow, USSR.
She experienced a restrictive upbringing in a family that was not tolerant of her increasingly freedom-seeking nature, pushing her to create her own world where she found solace in art.
Her artistic journey began in the design industry during her studies at the Moscow State Textile University, discovering her passion for painting and graphics that ultimately steered her towards expressionism and abstractionism. Her art reflects her desire for vibrant, contrasting colors and unconventional techniques in the creation process.
In 2012, she moved to Tel Aviv, Israel, adapting to the Middle Eastern cultural environment that contributed to her growth as a socially conscious artist. Taia explored themes such as childhood influence, interpersonal bonds, and women's roles in society from her personal experiences.
Her artistic expression has evolved from clear images to a more sensual side, finding inspiration in nature, emotions, and impressions. In 2019, her works were recognized and presented at Artexpo in New York and exhibited at the Molbert Gallery in Saint Petersburg. Some of her works are in private collections in Russia and Israel.
Taia's current focus is on modular painting. Her art represents the continuous motion inherent in herself and every organism in the universe. She finds a profound personal connection to nature, starting with a blank canvas and inner silence. Unconsciously applying paints and searching for textures that resonate with her feelings, the resulting shapes and colors build harmony. Each finished piece is distinct, reflecting the inconstancy and connection between everything and everyone, illustrating the lesson Taia has learned from nature.
