Masha Neverova

Artist from Russia 🇷🇺

Masha’s paintings often feature surreal elements and unexpected combinations of objects. Masha uses an illustration technique that allows her to create realistic images but with a violation of logic and proportions.

In this project, she combined the vegetation of Israel with the flora of northern nature that is more familiar to her.

“I am excited and fascinated by the local vegetation, but at the same time I am a little afraid of these plants, they are bright and beautiful, but very strange. I suspect each flower. Is it poisonous? Is it possible to pick it up and bring it home?

Reflecting on the theme of home, I realized that my nostalgia for the usual way of life extends to nature almost as much as to friends. I grew up in an atmosphere where it was customary going trekking through the forests and kayaking along the rivers. These moments of leaving the city for the forest are also part of me. I miss the smell of a pine forest, moss, blueberries, and ferns.”
